STEP BY STEP SCREENSHOTS FOR
MY CONTENTS PAGE
Deemple Morar
Firstly, I used the paint bucket tool which is located on the left hand
side. I then right clicked to apply the colour onto the blank page. I
used a dark pink as I thought this would fir the genre of my contents
page, this will ensure that the colours do not clash.
BACKGROUND
Next, I used the rectangle shape tool to apply a shape at the top
of my page. This is so that it would attract the audience to the
‘regular contents’ masthead. I chose a light shade of pink, as this
fits the genre of my magazine.
BACKGROUND FEATURES
In addition to this, I right clicked to use the text tool. I drew a text
box over the rectangle shape and inserted ‘contents’. I had to
ensure I moved the text layer so that the text would appear above
the shape. I also inserted a squared shape and wrote ‘WW’. This
stands for ‘Weatherhead Weekly’ which is the name of my
magazine.
BACKGROUND FEATURES/TEXT
Additionally, after I had created my ‘regular contents’, I had to consider what
images I would include. I clicked on file, ‘open’ and chose the image I wanted to
use. I dragged this over from my canvas to my contents page. I then clicked on
‘image’, ‘adjustments’ and clicked on the ‘brightness and contrast’. I changed
the brightness and contrast of my image, to make it more noticeable, so that it
will be eye catching towards the audience. I ensured I did this all the images I
used.
MAIN IMAGES
Furthermore, I used several different images on my contents page by inserting them
off my file. After I had completed this, I included each feature article (cover lines),
that would be included on my contents page. I started with ‘News’, ‘Important
Dates’, ‘Trips’ and finished with an ‘Editors Letter’. I applied the text tool to create
this piece of writing by right clicking to apply the box. I ensured I included the date
so that the audience will know when the issue has been released. This allows the
audience to be able to identify when the next issue will be released.
COVER LINES
FINISHED CONTENTS PAGE
After I had completed the final contents page, I decided I wanted to
remove the light pink rectangle where the ‘regular contents’ is
situated. This is because I thought it looked better presented without
it. I then right clicked over the shape tool and inserted a rectangle
shape, to create a thick line. I adjusted this by clicking on ‘CTRL’ and
‘T’, to adjust the thickness of the line.
