The document summarizes a study on monitoring stream flow in the Talakhaya watershed on the island of Rota, CNMI following revegetation efforts to reduce sediment loading. The goals were to quantify the reduction in sediment from revegetating with vetiver grass and educate the community. Monitoring equipment was installed to measure rainfall, stream levels, water quality, and discharge. Soil samples were also taken. Preliminary results showed revegetated streams had lower turbidity levels during rainfall events compared to unvegetated streams. Continued monitoring and community education were recommended to further assess the impact of revegetation.
