The homework assignment asks students to research and draw three important London buildings. For each building, they should research its history, look for contemporary versions, and note other visual links. Students will visit each building and draw them using a different medium for each in their sketchbook as double page spreads. They should look to the work of Jeanette Barnes for expressive drawing permission and focus on mark making. Students should also ask "what if" questions and reflect on what is worth further developing.

- 2. Half Term Homework You are to look at important and interesting buildings in London. i) Make a selection of 3 buildings. ii) Research the buildings. Does the building have a history worth telling? If you building is an old building can you point to a more contemporary version of it? iii) Can you make other links to your building visually? iv) Visit the buildings and make drawings of them. Full pages in your sketchbook. Three buildings = 3 double page spreads Use a different media in each drawing. v) Look at the work of Jeanette Barnes and let it be the permission you need to make more expressive drawings.
