яБо State some consequences of impaired
musculoskeletal system on support & locomotion
яБо To practise ways to care for the musculoskeletal
    system
яБо Are large, involuntary and
    painful contradictions which M u s c le
develop when there is a lack
    of stretching during an
    exercise. A depletion of
                                   C ra mp
    glycogen as well as a
    decline in the muscleтАЩs
    ability to generate a force
    to contribute to muscle
    cramp

яБо Can last for 15 minutes or
    more depending on the extent
    of the cramp

яБо Hamstring muscles at the
back of the thigh and calf
    are usually affected

яБо Heat, massage , rubbing and
    rest can reduce cramps.
M u s c u la r D y s t r o p h y
яБо Are a group of genetic
    disorders characterised
    of genetic progressive
    weakening &
    degeneration of
    muscles.

яБо Is cause by mutations in
    a gene on the X
    chromosome, a sex
    chromosome. The mutated
    gene makes the body
    unable to produce the
    proteins needed to build
    and maintain healthy.

яБо Usually affects children
яБо A child who is
    diagnosed with
    muscular dystrophy
    gradually loses the
    ability to carry
    out the daily
    activities. The
    muscles fibre
    weaken and the
    child tend to fall.
    The patient usually
    does not live long
    due to the
    inability to
    breath.
яБо Bring sex-linked,
    as it is present in
    the X chromosome,
    this disorder
    affects more males
    than females.

яБо There is no cure
    for this disease,
    though medication
    and therapy are
    provided to slow
    the course of the
    disease
O s te o p o r
o s is яБо Sets in as a person
                     ages, especially in
                     menopausal women.
                     The bones decrease
                     during mass, become
                     hollow and brittle

                 яБо Occurs when
                     reabsorption of
                     calcium and
                     phosphates into
                     the bloodstream is
                     more than the
                     withdrawing of
                     calcium during the
                     formation of bones
яБо Physical
    inactivity,
    calcium
    deficiency,
    insufficient
    vitamin D,
    declining
    activity of
    bones, cells and
    insufficient sex
    hormones can
    contribute to
    osteoporosis.

Sub 2[1].2 FORM5
яБо This disorder usually
    affects the spongy ones,
    including the vertebral
    column and long bones such
    as the humerus and femur.

яБо Osteoporosis can be
    prevented or minimised
    through the following
    method.
     яБо Prevention beginning from
       childhood with good
       nutrition and exercise
     яБо A balanced diet including
       an adequate calcium
       intake
     яБо Fall prevention in
       elderly people
A r t h r it is
яБо Arthiritis is inflammation of the
joints. It can cause pain and
    swelling in your joints.

яБо This disorder is due to the
    exhaustion of cartilage, depletion
of synovial membrane at the synovial
    joints

яБо There are over 100 types of
    arthritis. The common ones are
    rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis
    & gout.
Arthritis
яБо Rheumatoid Arthritis
яГШ Can occur at any age.
        Usually affects women
яГШ Cartilage become less as they
grows older at the joints they
        always use causing pain and
        stiff

яБо Osteoarthritis
    яБо Permanent joints inflammation
яБо Cartilage become less as they
grows older at the joints they
        always use causing pain and
        stiff

яБо Gout Arthritis
яГШ A disease caused by the
accumulation of uric acid in the
        joints
