This document outlines 5 sub-categories of environmental science: 1) Atmospheric Science which studies the earth's atmosphere and includes meteorology, climatology and aerology. 2) Ecology which examines relationships between living organisms and their environment at multiple levels. 3) Environmental Chemistry which studies chemical processes in the environment from human activities. 4) Geosciences which involves the study of geology, geography, and challenges faced by communities through disciplines like physical geography, geomorphology, and hydrology. 5) Environmental Assessment which evaluates the environmental impacts of plans, policies, projects and programs before decisions are made.
