INTRODUCTION
              1975- NTPC was set up in 1975 with
               100% ownership by government of
               INDIA . In the last 30 year NTPC Grown
               into the largest power utility in India



    1997- in 1997 govt. of India granted NTPC
     status of NAVRATNA being on of the nine
     jewels of India, enhancing the power of the
     board of director .
                 2004- NTPC become a listed COMPANY
                 with majority govt. ownership of 89.5%
                 NTPC become 3rd largest           by market
                 capitalization of listed company.


     2008- NTPC is largest power generation
     company in India. Forbes global    2000   for
     2008 ranked it 411 in the world.                     4

NTPC DADRI

 It is country’s only 3-in-1 project-coal
  based, gas based and converter based
 A new stage i.e; STAGE-II is now in
  running position with a capacity of 980MW
  (2*490)
 To lighten up the CWG-2010 and for
  benefit of Delhi and UP
 It generates 840 MW power from coal
  based station and 817 MW power from gas

It is basically used for the measurement
of the gases and liquids..with the help of
following equipments:-
1.TRANSMITTERS.
2.MANOMETER.
3.BOURDEN PRESSURE GAUGE.

PROTECTION AND INTERLOCK
          LAB
 It is basically interconnecting two or more
 equipments so that if one equipment fails other one
 can perform the tasks with the help of following etc..
 1.RELAY.
 2.FUSES.
 3.MINIATURE CIRCUIT BREAKER.

AUTOMATION LAB.
   This lab deals in automating the existing
    equipments and feeding routes.



   1.Liquid in glass thermometre.
   2.Ultra violet sensors.
   3.Thermocouples.
   4.RTD’s

Furnance Safety and Supervisory
System Lab.
(FSSS)

   This lab has the responsibility of
    starting fire in the furnance to
    enable the burning of coal.

   For firing the furnance a 10KV
    spark plugis operated for ten
    seconds.

   THIS LAB UNDERTAKES THE
    CALIBERATIONS AND TESTING OF
    VARIOUS CARDS.

 A THERMAL POWER STATION
   COMPRISES OF ALL THE EQUIPMENT
   AND A SUBSYSTEM REQUIRED TO
   PRODUCE ELECTRICITY BY USING A
   STEAM GENERATING BOILER.


 SUCH POWER STATIONS ARE MOST
 USUALLY CONSTRUCTED ON A VERY
 LARGE SCALE AND DESIGNED FOR
 CONTINUOUS OPERATION.
