Content Hub
Content Hub

Content Hub is a point of access to content repositories.

 Pluggable Connectors

Client API: A client application connects to Content Hub using web services :
Content Hub exposes the same API as all EntropySoft connectors .

Not Just Migration: Federated Search

Content Hub follows the facade UML design pattern.

                                                                         24
Content Hub

  Webtop Client
oadministrate Content Hub (create users, plug and unplug connectors…)
o visually browse content repositories and interact with them
o start, stop and monitor jobs.

• Behind the scene, webTop uses the Content Hub web services.
Content Hub

          26
Content ETL

         27
EntropySoft - Content ETL

Content ETL is a visual development environment for jobs.

Eclipse plugins : most Java developers will feel « at home » when using it.

Content ETL uses Content Hub for all interactions with content repositories.

Design & Deploy: Once a job is designed, it can be deployed and executed in
Content Hub.

                                                                                28
Content ETL - Studio

                       29
Content ETL – Migration Job

Job Components
Job (or bridge) : a sequence of stages.

Stage : an action executed on a parcel.
omodify the content of a document in a parcel.
o add some metadata to a document in a parcel.
  o do PDF rendering

Parcel : the unit of information exchanged between two stages . It contains :
  o the document metadata
  o the document contents
  o the document permissions
  o…

                                                                                30
Content ETL - stages
                Stage name Description

Digest content Computes a digest (MD5, SHA etc…) of the document content.

Item type adapter Converts a metadata from one type to the other (example : Integer to String).

Regular expression Modifies a metadata value using a regular expression.

Split document/folders            Separate documents from folders and send them along different routes in the job (like a ‘ if {
                                  … } else { … }’).
Status filter Filter out items that have already been processed successfully during a previous execution of
                                  the same job.
Mime type detector Uses the first bytes of the document content to determine its mime type.

… …

Some ideas for your own custom stages :
o Delete a document from the source repository after it was successfully migrated.
o Make the document read-only in the source repository after it was successfully migrated.
o Change the value of a document metadata in the source repository after it was successfully
      migrated.
