Native bees are the most important group of pollinators in North America. Providing patches of native plants that flower throughout the seasons can help support declining native bee populations. This fact sheet recommends planting a diversity of locally native plant species like milkweed, goldenrod, and sunflower that provide pollen and nectar. Both native wildflowers and some common garden plants like lavender, rosemary, and basil can benefit bees when clustered together in the landscape.
