This can be broken down in to the following elements:
Elements of construction: selection; composition; combination
 • 2. Modes of address: eg through content, through language, through genre, through narrative, through visual imagery, through graphic style
 • 3. According to genre: eg sci-fi movie, horror movie, romantic comedy
 • 4. Constraints: codes of practice, eg BBC guidelines,; legal restrictions, eg privacy, libel law, defamation, race discrimination law, data protection, freedom of information, copyrightAnd also understand how audiences can respond to media products
Reasons for preference: eg age, gender, ethnic background, sexual orientation
 • 5. Language codes: eg verbal, visual, aural
 • 6. Generic codes: eg language, content, narrative, characters, style, camera work, soundtrack, music, mise-en-scène, iconography, graphicsUse the above to help you complete the following:
How have you constructed your product for a specific audience? What mode of address have you used? (How have you spoken to your audience?)What genre is your film and how do you know this will appeal to your audience? What classification would your film have? How have you kept to the copyright law?
You will have to arrange a screening of your finished product and should prepare a series of questions for the audience that will demonstrate your understanding of how they have responded to your film and the reasons for their response.
