- 2. how it started Was founded 20th July 1921 It originally sold grammar phones and music discs for them. HMV stands for “His Masters Voice”
- 3. The logo The logo was a painting from 1899 which was called his masters voice. The painting was popular after rich people liked it and lots of copies were made. In 1921 the grammar phone company took the painting name and idea which features a dog called nipper listening to a grammar phone. The painting was originally called dog looking and listening into a grammar phone.
