Task 2
Chosen idea
After the focus group I have decided to progress with idea 1, the romantic genre. A
romantic genre is more realistic than a horror so the audience can relate to it more
which is an important quality in a movie. To add it will reach my budget for example in
the horror I needed the models to have hair and make-up done (e.g the dead girl) to a
good standard like in the movies using the first idea the models can come straight
without having to change their appearance and start the photo-shoot without any
interruptions. This is what the focus group suggested.
Location considerations
Haydon School Studio Room.
My first and most popular location is the studio
room. I have chosen to use this because the
equipment such as the white screen, studio lights
and cameras are available. There is also computers I
can use straight after the shoot to upload my
photos. All the necessary equipment I need to use
during the photo shot is in the one room. To add the
room has the capacity to have more than five people
in the room.
Haydon School Classroom.
My second location is Haydon’s school classroom room
12. I have chosen to use this because the setting is in
a school so using a classroom to portray the setting is
a good idea. In the classroom there are many props I
can use already in the classroom such as computers,
tables and chairs which also portrays the setting and
movie making it more realistic .
Haydon’s school corridor
I will use the media corridor at Haydon School to take
photos. I can use the notice boards as a background
showing the school ground to show my main setting
which also shows the ages of the characters.
Haydon’s Sixth Form Common Room.
My last location is Haydon’s school Sixth form common
room. This is a good location because it will be the
location where the first couple meet as all students go
there at break therefore it is a good location to as
well as making it more lifelike.
Production schedule
WEEK 1:
3.20: Models arrive and get ready using
Haydon facilities. During this time myself
and media student will set up for the
photo-shot and prepare locations.
3.40: Photo-shoot begins in different
locations.
4.30: Photo-shoot ends and models leave.
4.40: Upload the footage onto computer.
WEEK 1:
If needed will repeat the week 1 schedule
to ensure everything is complete.
WEEK 2:
TUESDAY 8.40- 12.20: Edit photos for
magazine
WEDNESDAY 1.30-3.30: Edit photos for
magazine and create layout
THIS WILL BE CONTINUED UNTILL PRODUCT
IS COMPLETED.
Who will do what? Job roles
Savannah PHOTOGRAPHER: Organise layout of different locations as well as take and
uploads photos from shoot. I will also ensure all legal, ethical and moral rights are met
beforehand.
Actors: My actors will include Aaron, Rhiannon and another female actor outside the
classroom (Aniso) they will be my models and will prepare themselves for the shoot by
wearing the correct costume and make-up etc.
Media student SET UP: This student will help set up the equipment for the photo shoot
for example setting up camera to correct settings, studio lights and white screen as I
do not have enough knowledge and practice to do so alone.
Resources
Availability of equipment. To ensure I have the availability to use it I will book it after
school where it wont affect any lessons.
Equipment will include
Camera
Camera stand
Studio lights
White background
Computer
Props. This includes pencils, pencil case, school bags. (equipment models already have.)
Legal, moral and ethical issues
To ensure my planning is accurate and legal there are rules that must be followed by the PCC. (Press
Complaints Commission.) Relating to children they are three involved.
“The press must avoid prejudicial or pejorative reference to an individual's race, colour, religion,
gender, sexual orientation or to any physical or mental illness or disability”
No form of discrimination should be used in the production of the magazine to ensure this isn’t the
case I have asked the models to come in in their own sixth form uniform (smart dressed) and make up
to become how they already are (touch up if needed.)
“Young people should be free to complete their time at school without unnecessary intrusion”
To make sure this is met all of the production will be done after school so school work is not affected.
“Pupils must not be approached or photographed at school without the permission of the school
authorities”
For permission I will create a letter where parents can sign to give permission of their child to be
photographed to avoid any situations.
