TASK 2
BY MUNIRBA
STUDIO, PORTRAITS, FASHION SHOOT
The pictures I took were of graffiti as I am focussing on urban art. I
went around London to take these pictures. I was focussing on
London as a location. I did not take any pictures of people or in the
studio. These are some of the pictures I took.
LOCATION, URBAN LANDSCAPE, ARCHITECTURAL,
FASHION SHOOT.
I mostly shot around London, because I was focussing on urban art and how graffiti effects people in positive lights
rather than always being negative. I wanted to bring pout the side of graffiti most people do not really focus on, this
would be graffiti seen as a illegal act made by delinquents to the people. But I would like to bring forward and show
that graffiti although is it wrong, there is always a message people leave. These are ways people can express their
feelings. As if different art represents how they may feel about a place or something, in the end I feel graffiti is a form
of self expression or re-designing something in ways you like. The area I focused on was Walthamstow as this is near
to be and my college and I found some amazing graffiti there. The graffiti was just done on the side of the road but
this was very visible so people were able to see this graffiti. The graffiti expressed things like the poast coad the
name of the area and such.
Framing – The framing choices I choose are displayed in the photography itself I have shot from a side to show a light
coming on the art, I have also chosen this type of framing as it makes the graffiti stand out from one side. This gives
an effect on how from both sides the graffiti looks different.
Shutter speed – I did not adjust the shutter speed as I did not want to take pictures of anything moving. I wanted all
my photographs to be still.
Aperture – I did use the aperture button on my camera as I wanted a some of light drawn away of the graffiti so I was
able to see details in the graffiti. Because eon that day it was naturally sunny, some of the light was draining away
from the graffiti so therefore I use the aperture to adjust the light in the camera to make it seem more dim.
File size – The file types are jpeg. The files size is 104 KB.
Digital photography techniques:
Composition and mise en scène:
To fulfil the brief – I think I have fulfilled most of the brief and what is asked me to do. The brief asked me to do a
photography shoot for a trail front cover of a magazine, I had to show my technical aesthetics understanding digital
photography. I think I did do this as I did focus on a genre that way interest some young people. I tried as much as I
could to show my techniques in camera.
Appropriate for the media product, e.g. rule of thirds, differential focus, framing, - I think my media product is
suitable for a magazine as it focus on an issue which most urban young people are troubled about. I also think the
shots have chosen make the art look interesting
Cropping, angles, costume. - I cropped all of my pictures so they can fit the layout of my magazine as I wanted all
pictures on my magazine. I wanted to also show how a change of angles and colour of light can change the
perspective of the image. I did not choose a specific costume for my models because I wanted a verity and a urban
theme.
STORING
Correct file format - The correct file format is Jpeg because this was taken on a DSLR camera .
File names – I named my file ‘ photograph shoot ‘ because this is easier for me identify the file.
Copyright – I have no copy right issues, but I may have issues with the owner of the building as they may have
an issue with taking pictures of it.
