Why do you think the Mother duck suddenly threw off the
Ugly Duckling when he jumped into the pond?
The Mother duck quarrelled with the Father duck because of him.
He is always going after the Mother duck and her ducklings.
The Mother duck can’t accept his appearance and she wants him to
stay away.
The Mother duck realises his presence.
When did the Ugly Duckling start to realize that he
was disliked by everyone?
The Mother duck and the other ducklings don’t like him
When he looks at his reflection and is shocked to see how different he is from the
other ducks.
When he sees how happy his siblings and the Mother duck are without him.
When the Mother duck snapped at him.
How can we prove that the Ugly Duckling
struggled to find his new parents?
He gets into the nest of songbird chicks hoping that they will be his new family.
He retreats back into the pond and sees a wooden duck decoy with a new hope,
even though he was just attacked by the Mother songbird.
He thinks that the decoy accepts him as a new family since the decoy doesn’t scold
him.
He starts to play around with his new parent which is the decoy when he thinks
that he is accepted as family.
Why do you think the Ugly Duckling finally gives up
hope?
He thinks that he is just too ugly for anyone to love.
He was rejected twice by the Mother duck and the Mother songbird
He thinks nobody will take him as a family.
The Mother duck and her ducklings chased him away
Why did the Ugly Duckling expect Mother swan to reject
him?
Because of his ugliness
He was always rejected by the others
He already gave up hope that others will accept him
He was just attacked by the decoy.
Why do you think the Mother duck suddenly invited the
Ugly Duckling to return to them?
Because she regrets what she did before
Because the Ugly Duckling transformed into a little swan.
Because she knows that the little swan has potential.
Because the Mother duck saw the Ugly Duckling swimming along with
the other swans.
What is the moral value that we can learn from this
story?
Don’t give up easily.
Don’t judge someone based on their
appearance.
Do be nice to others.
All above.
The following statements are true EXCEPT
The Mother duck and her ducklings refused to accept the Ugly Duckling
because of his ugly appearance.
The Ugly Duckling was so happy playing around with the decoy duck
because he thinks that he is accepted as family.
The Mother duck wants Ugly Duckling to return back to the family
because she regretted what she did to him
The Ugly Duckling changed into a little swan and returns to his real
family.
The Mother duck took care of him intentionally.
The Ugly Duckling got misplaced by his own mother.
The Ugly Duckling got lost on purpose.
One of the ducklings found him and took him back.
Why do you think the Ugly Duckling was with the duck
family?
What have you learned from this story?
Our outward appearance is most important.
We should judge people based on how they look.
We mustn’t be nice to others
Our inner beauty is more important than our looks.
