Tempus 20.03.2014 2MeatMath – Kick-off Meeting - Saarbrücken Tempus is the EU’s programme which supports the modernisation of higher education in the Partner Countries of Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Western Balkans and the Mediterranean region, mainly through university cooperation projects. Second goal: voluntary convergence of the higher education systems in the Partner Countries.

Tempus specific objectives 20.03.2014 3MeatMath – Kick-off Meeting - Saarbrücken • To promote the reform and modernisation of higher education in the Partner Countries; • To enhance the quality and relevance of higher education to the world of work and society in the Partner Countries; • To increase the capacity of higher education institutions in the Partner Countries and the EU, in particular their capacity to co-operate internationally and to continually modernise • To foster the reciprocal development of human resources; • To enhance mutual understanding between the peoples and cultures of the EU and the Partner Countries.

ERASMUS + for the world (example) 20.03.2014 8MetaMath – Kick-off Meeting - Saarbrücken Capacity Building in the field of Youth • foster cooperation and exchanges in the field of youth between Programme Countries and Partner Countries from different regions of the world; • improve the quality and recognition of youth work, non-formal learning and volunteering in Partner Countries and enhance their synergies and complementarities with other education systems, the labour market and society; • foster the development, testing and launching of schemes and programmes of non- formal learning mobility at regional level (i.e. within and across regions of the world); • promote transnational non-formal learning mobility between Programme and Partner Countries, notably targeting young people with fewer opportunities, with a view to improving participants' level of competences and fostering their active participation in society. • Open to the entire world.
