- 1. The Cheat Sheet Where blatant gossip, rumor and political innuendo all come together!!! 27-28 August 2011 There’s a big fight brewing up this fall in Indianapolis. No I’m not talking about the race between Republican Greg Ballard and Democrat Melina Kennedy, but between different factions of the Black churches in the city. There are basically two camps, the Ballard Camp and the Kennedy Camp. There was reportedly a big blow up between the two recently and it’s only going to get worse before it gets better. Speaking of which, rumor has it Kennedy is trying to meet with some of the Black pastors who are cool to her campaign. Of course it might help if some of Kennedy’s supporters hadn’t referred to them as the “white folk’s niggers” (Their words, not mine.) By the way, in the wake of recent violence in Indianapolis some are asking why Indianapolis City- County Council Vern Brown is working behind the scenes to stop a payment to the 10-point Coalition, the local community group that deals with violence prevention. If I were Vern, I’d be trying to get more money for groups like 10-Point. We only had 11 homicides last summer, this month alone we’ve topped that number and one could argue there’s a correlation between the funding that was taken away from groups like 10-Point this past year by the Indy Parks Foundation. Marion County Judge Becky Pierson-Treacy may be on the hook even more so than anyone thought for her and Ed Treacy’s recent campaign flyer. Some of the names on the invitation list were attorneys who practice in front of her court and the only way to get that information is to go through judicial records. That’s a big “no no” in the eyes of the Indiana Supreme Court. I’m told a complaint has already been filed with the Indiana Judicial Qualifications Commission. Mike Pence is moving. Well his campaign headquarters is. Pence announced Friday that he was moving his operations from Anderson to Hamilton County. Pence says the move puts him in the largest Republican-leaning County in the state. The contenders for newly formed House District 37 were out in force Friday night at the Hamilton County Young Republican event for gubernatorial candidate Mike Pence. The new district encompasses Fishers, Delaware Township and portions of Fall Creek Township. Vying for the seat are former Indiana Department of Education Chief of Staff Todd Huston, Delaware Township Trustee Debbie Driskell and Fishers businesswoman Michelle Sybesma. 1 | The Cheat Sheet

I’m hearing that Republican State Senator Bev Gard (District 28) is getting primary challenger this weekend. Indianapolis Firefighter Chris Lytle is expected to announce Sunday. Lytle is from New Palestine. Speaking of running the “Rev” Mmoja Ajabu is looking at a Congressional run against 7th District incumbent Andre Carson. Got some political gossip you want to share?
