This document examines the collaborative language learning attributes of an online synchronous learning environment called a "cyber face-to-face" setting. Thirty-three students participated in an online Chinese/English interpreting course conducted entirely through the Collaborative Cyber Community (3C) platform. Survey results indicate that the interactive whiteboard, text chat, group classrooms, audio, and video tools in 3C can effectively support collaboration, though the level of support varies between tools. The document aims to understand how each tool facilitates or inhibits collaboration among learners in an online language learning context.
