- 2. LANGUAGEThe primary language spoken is Ukranian.Russian is widely spoken. Most native Ukrainians know Russian as a second language.

ARCHITECTUREAfter the union with the Tsardom of Russia, architecture in Ukraine began to develop in different directions, with many structures in the larger eastern, Russian-ruled area built in the styles of Russian architecture of that period.ARTThe tradition of the Easter egg, known as pysanky, has long roots in Ukraine.
- 4. These eggs were drawn on with wax to create a pattern; then, the dye was applied to give the eggs their pleasant colours, the dye did not affect the previously wax-coated parts of the egg.
- 5. After the entire egg was dyed, the wax was removed leaving only the colourful pattern.
