1. What is Lean Six Sigma?
• Lean six Sigma is simply a process of solving a
problem.
• It is a system of management that results in the
pulping of projects that are ready for
improvements.
• It consists of five phases Aka The DMAIC
• Lean Six Sigma help you to select the right
project at right time.

2. Why DMAIC?
• Methodology used for root cause analysis.
• DMAIC should be used when:
a) There is a problem and the root cause is unknown
b) The solution for that problem should be fixed because
of the high danger.
c) A problem Exists, solution has been tried but the root
cause is not known.

3. Selecting The Right Project
• Choose project that are good candidate for
improvement. A Good project of improvement:
a) Has an obvious problem within the process
b) Has the potential to increase Revenue,
reduce cost or improved efficiency.
c) Has Collectable data.

4. DMAIC Methodologies
• DMAIC is a lean six sigma methodology used to
conduct root cause analysis
DMAIC STANDS FOR
a) Define
b) Measure
c) Analyze
d) Improve
e) Control

4.1 Define
• The first phase of the Lean six Sigma
• It consists of the defining the problem, goal and the
process and the customer

4.2 Measure
• In the measure phase the team focuses on data
collection which takes time and effort.
• The process look like:
a) Select Measure
b) Data collection planning
c) Operational definition
d) Baseline data

4.3 Analyze
•In the Analyze phase, the team reviews data
collected during the measure phase. The goal is to
narrow down and verify root causes of waste and
defects
a) Process Analysis
b) Brainstorm Root Causes
c) Pareto Charts
d) Develop Hypothesis

4.4 Improve
• In the Improve phase, teams move on to solution
development.
a) Create Flow
b) Mistake-Proofing: Poka-Yoke
c) Visual Management & 5S

4.5 Control
• The Control phase is the final phase of Lean
Six Sigma. The team focuses on how to sustain
newly achieved improvements by passing it on
to other employees.
a) Process Control Plan
b) Monitoring & Response Plan
c) Documentation & Storyboard

• We study about Lean Six Sigma and how and
where to use DMAIC process.
• We Study about the Five phase of identifying
route cause of a problem.
