The miller and his daughter
Once upon a time there was a poor miller lived with his daughter her name was salma. One
day the king asked the miller to come to him then the miller came to the king and he was
scary(scared) because he didn’t know what the king wanteed from him . He was a stupid
man so, he wanted to say anything to the king, and then he said: O king my daughter can
turn the straw to gold, the king said: is it true?it is great bring your daughter tomorrow.
Next day the miller came with his daughter salma to the castle the king put salma in a room
full of straws there was nothing in the room but straws, spinning wheel, a chair and some
reels. The king said to salma: come on turn this straw to golden threads turn it all this night
before sunrise or you will die. The king said these words and closed the door and leaves(left)
her alone. slama sit(sat) on the chair and look (looked) to(at) the all straws, she was sad and
confused . She didn’t know what to do. Salma didn’t know how to turn the straws to gold
she said to herself I am sure I am going to die tomorrow. Slama(was) scared too much then
she started crying. Suddenly the door opened and entered a weird short man(a weird short
man entered). He was the weirdest man that slama saw in her life. He said: good evening
salma! Why you are crying? salma said : the king asked me to turn all this straws to thread
from gold or he will kill me , and I don’t know how to turn this all straws to gold . The short
man said: I know how to turn these straws to gold, what would you give me if I did it for
you? Salma said I would give you my necklace. The short man takes(took) the necklace and
sits(sat) on the chair weaving reel after reel very fast. He keeps (kept) weaving threads of
gold all night long. The short man completes(completed) turning all straws to threads of
gold before sunrise he fells (filled)all reels after that he gone(went). At sunrise the king
came to salma‘s room the king saw the gold, he was surprised and he was so happy, but he
was greedy and he have no enough of gold that he got(he didnt get enough of the gold he
has got). He holds(held) salma‘s hand and take(took) her to larger room full of straws. He
said to salma come on turn this straws to gold turn it all before sunrise or I will kill you.
salma sit(sat) on the chair she was scared and she started thinking . She felt that she will die
so, she started crying and suddenly the door opened and appear the short man again(the
short man showed up again), and he asked her what would (you) give me if I turn it all to
gold for you. She said I would give you my ring .the short man take took the ring and started
weaving the straws to gold he keep(kept) weaving all night long. He completes (completed)
all straws before sunrise and fills(filled) the entire reel with gold and he gone(went). The
king came in the morning and he was surprised and so happy too, but he became more
greedy than before and he wants(wanted) more than(what) he got from gold he did the

same thing he had done before he take(took) her to lager room with more straws and he
said to her com (come)on turn it all this night and I will marry you tomorrow and you will
become the queen. Salma started crying and while she was crying the short man
appear(showed up ) again and asked her what if he turned it all again to gold for her what
she would gives(give) him. She cried and she told him that she didn’t have anything that he
takes (took) everything she has(had). The short man said to her I want you promise me to
give me your first child after you became a queen. Salma think(thought) that that she would
accept because maybe she won’t be a queen and if so, maybe she wont have a baby .And
salma promised the short man that she will give him her first child after she became a
queen. The short man was so happy by the promise and he starts(started) weaving the
straws to threads of gold he finished all straws before the sunrise and he gone(went). And
the king came to the salma‘s room when he saw all the gold he was so happy and he said to
himself: that miller‘s daughter is so beautiful and because of her I became a reach(rich).
The king married salma and she became the queen. The queen was lived in happiness with
her husband. After one year the queen and the king have a beautiful baby and they were so
happy. The queen forgot the promise ( she has made) and all that(those) things about the
short man who turned those straws to gold. After few days from delivered the baby (giving
birth to her baby) the short man came to the queen‘s room and said: I came to take that
child you that promised. The queen (got) scared when she heard what he said and hold
(held) her baby tight .she asked him to leave and do not take her baby and she said to him I
will give you all the gold and money in the kingdom , but don’t take my baby. He refused her
request and she was so sad and crying badly then the short man feels(felt) sorry for her and
told (said) to her: I will not take your child if you guess my name in three days. The queen
stayed awake that night trying to remind all names that she has been heard in her entire
life. Next day she asked from the watchman to collect all men names in the entire the
kingdom. The short man came and the queen told him all the names that she heard, but he
said after every name no that’s not my name. Next day she asked from the watchman to go
to another kingdom and collect all strange names. Then when the short man
returns(returned) she told him all strange names, but he keeps(kept) saying no that’s not
my name. The queen feels (felt) sad and despaired because she didn’t know his name after
than (that)the watchman return (returned) and said to the queen: I didn’t hear (heard)new
names, but I saw a small hut in the top of the mountain and in front of the hut there were a
fire and a short weird man dancing around the fire and said: burn burn fire and dance and
be merry joaydan your salma will not know your name and she will give you the baby today
so dance and be merry joaydan. The queen was so happy from what the watchman said and
she finally knew the name of the short man. Then when the short man return (returned)she
act acted that she didn’t know his name yet so, she keeps kept guessing his name and he
was still saying no not may name after that she said to him it must be joaydan is not it true?
So he got surprised and said who told you my name that must be the witches watchman he
was so angry and he hit the floor by his small leg and his leg stuck in the small hole in the
floor that he made it when he hit the floor after that he pull pulled his leg and leave leftthe
