- 2. 1-Geography The Netherlands on the coast of the North Sea, is twice the size of New Jersey. About half the country's area is below sea level, making the famous Dutch dikes a requisite for efficient land use.
- 3. 2-Climate The predominant wind direction in the Netherlands is southwest, which causes a moderate maritime climate, with cool summers and mild winters.
- 4. 3-Language The official language is Dutch, which is spoken by the majority of the inhabitants. Another official language is Frisian, which is spoken in the northern province of Friesland.
- 5. 4-The flag The flag of the Netherlands is a horizontal tricolour of red, white, and blue. Introduced in 1572, it is one of the first tricolours and the oldest tricolour still in use today. Since 1937, the flag has officially been the national flag of the Netherlands and of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
- 6. 5-Inhabitants The Netherlands has an estimated population of 16,491,852 (as of 8 March 2009. It is the 11th most populous country in Europe and the 61st most populous country in the world. The majority of the population of the Netherlands are ethnically Dutch. A 2005 estimate counted: 80.9% Dutch, 2.4% Indonesian (Indo-Dutch, South Moluccan), 2.4% German, 2.2% Turkish, 2.0% Surinamese, 1.9% Moroccan, 0.8% Antillean and Aruban, and 6.0% others The Dutch people are among the tallest in the world, with an average height of about 1.81 m (5 ft 11 in) for adult males and 1.68 m (5 ft 6 in) for adult females. People in the south are on average about 2 cm shorter than those in the north.

Van Gogh Church is also one of the most famous places to visit in Holland.
- 9. 8-Food The Netherlands is renowned for its varieties of cheese and it is where Dutch process chocolate originated. Dutch cuisine is somewhat limited in its diversity of dishes (like many Northern European cuisines) and includes a high consumption of vegetables compared to the consumption of meat.
