This document discusses the ultimate purpose and happiness of mankind. It states that while riches, honors, glory and other worldly pleasures may bring partial happiness, ultimate happiness is found only in God. As humans live on earth, they must work to attain perfection and union with God, their ultimate happiness. Original sin wounded human nature, so people must perfect themselves through virtues like wisdom, justice and temperance in order to possess God. The chief end of man is to glorify and enjoy God for eternity, though individuals will face judgment after death and receive eternal beatitude in heaven or damnation in hell.

In riches? In honors? In glory or renown? In power? In the pleasure of the body? In health or in beauty? In the good of the soul? Partly yes; Ultimately No
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Nevertheless, we are here upon earth. Therefore this life is a means to attain that ultimate happiness which is GOD. We conclude that there is here below a certain necessity to gain perfection which leads to the ultimate perfection.
Because of Original sin, man is wounded: In the body: Death & Suffering In the soul: Ignorance, malice, weakness, concupiscence etc.
Since the ultimate happiness is for man to possess, it follows of necessity that man must perfect himself in order to attain God, the ultimate happiness.
It follows that there must be subjection of the body,(11 passions), to the faculties of the soul (intellect & will).
Virtues of the intellect are: WISDOM SCIENCE UNDERSTANDING ART PRUDENCE Virtues of the Will are: PRUDENCE JUSTICE FORTITUDE TEMPERANCE VIRTUES
 
Question. 1. What is the chief end of man? Answer . Man's chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him for ever. Here are two ends of life specified. 1. The glorifying of God. 2. The enjoying of God. MAN DIES MAN IS JUDGED MAN GOES TO HEAVEN (HIS ETERNAL BEATITUDE) OR HELL (HIS ETERNAL DAMNATION)
