3. Brunei: improved fallow system
4. Cameroon: selective clearing of the Ntumu and sorghum of
Muskuwaari

Moving towards promotion of GIAHS in
ISESCO's Member Countries
FAO – ISESCO partnership
ISESCO and FAO have initiated a Partnership Collaboration
through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)signed in
November 2011
I. Clear potential to promote agri-cultural significance of
ingenious heritage systems
II. win-win partnership between ISESCO, FAO and Member
States, for the benefit of small farmers , nature and heritage
preservation
III. Concept of GIAHS in concordance with ISESCO's strategies
approved by Member States
Framework for GIAHS in OIC countries within
ISESCO-FAO partnership
Education training provide skills for all stakeholders
Assessment of GIAHS Techniques assessing
Public awareness communication strategies
Adding value and demonstrating the benefits for stakeholders,
Market incentives Tools designed to complete regulations
Policies and legislation policies designed to maximise the
development gains and reduce the negative impact of globalisation by protecting the
GIAHS sites and promoting them for long term
