This document outlines a school project on analyzing public spaces using Jan Gehl's theory of "Life Between Buildings". The project consists of two parts: a case study analysis and comparative essay. For the case study, students will examine patterns of social activity and "contact points" in an assigned Asian city. For the comparative essay, students will analyze similarities and differences between the assigned city and their local site based on Gehl's theories. The goal is to enhance students' understanding of architecture in its social context through independent research.
