Girls basketball completed the season
15-9 overall, making this the first year
the team has gone to state since 2006.
“I think in the
upcoming years
Borah will continu-
ously be getting
better,” said senior
Michal Bilger. “This
is the year where
we got over the
hump.” The girls
expect that Borah will make it to state
as a regular accomplishment in the fu-
ture.
“During districts, we knew we could
make it to state. In the game against
Eagle, we were ahead almost the whole
game,” said senior Madeline Bryant.
“Then they ended up winning in the
end by three points.”
The girls beat Post Falls, making it of-
ficial that they were going to be in the
state championship.
“We all were just huddled up scream
ing,” said Bryant.
She added, “It was a crazy feeling be
cause we haven’t gone to state for nine
years. Then before the state game we got
the sweatshirts and
it all became very
real, Even walking
into the stadium ev
erything was new
and very big.”
The girls bas
ketball team was
challenged in thier
first game of the state championship.
They were up against Mountain View
and point guard Destiny Slocum, who is
rated by ESPN as a five-star point guard.
“We had nothing to lose because
Mountain view was the higher seed so
we gave it our all,” said junior Kiana
Corpus.
The game ended w54-62, which was a
tough loss but the girls had battled hard.
The team lost its second game against
