Thomas Paine Is given the title “The Father of The American Revolution”. His pamphlet “Common Sense” was written in 1776 and swarmed through the houses of the literate. In this pamphlet, Paine wanted to convey a sense of resentment to the Crown. This document became a key player in the events to start the American Revolution.
Paine also wrote “The Age of Reason.” This was a document he published right before he was to be imprisoned in France and most likely executed. He attacked religion in this paper with evidence of inconsistencies that he found in the Bible. At one point he was even abandoned by his friends and family and had only himself. Paine was discredited by many people who did not agree with his ways. He emigrated from Norfolk in 1774, just in time to participate in The American Revolution.
