What is characterization?
It is the creation of the image
                   of a fictional person.

It generates plot and
is reveled by…
                     • Actions
                     • Speech
                     • Thoughts
                     • Appearance

        3. They provide characterization
           for major characters

him finally taking over his own fate.
•Two types of characters: major and minor
•Characterization: what the story tells us
  about a character.
•Development: how a character changes
  in a story.
• Look for key plot points to find character
  development
