Form 1 Integer In this chapter, students should understand and know how to use the concept of integer. They also need to be able to write positive and negative integers to represent the word’s description. For example, they need to be able to represent a positive and negative direction of an object. Look at this image below for clearer understanding.

Integers are somehow very related to the vector chapter in Additional Mathematics for form 5 students. Now let me tell you why they are very related. Look at the example below; Subtracting a vector is taken as the addition of the corresponding negative vector, meaning that a – b = a + ( -b )
For example,
In order for the vectors to be subtracted, one of the vector has to change its direction. In the above case, vector is chosen to change its direction. If direction is changed, negative sign is put indicating that the vector has already changed its direction.    Point To Be Noted Vectors have positive and negative direction and so does integers. So, if students understand the integer concepts very well, they can also easily understand the vector concept.
