Part 2
Social Media Preparation
& Which Tools to Use
2
PLANNING AND PREPARATION
In topic 4, we discussed the
various marketing plans that
can be put in place and the
measures you need to take.
Here are some useful tips to
keep in mind, and over the next
few slides we will look at the
various tools to assist you with
the preparation.
Voice & Tone
Define the sound and text
tone of your brand. Have
consistency and use the
same tone in all
communication.
Multimedia
Consider the multimedia
usage types you will be
using. Are you just going to
use pictures? Will you be
consoidering video, GIFs,
Meme’s, Infographics etc?
Formating
Will all your posts follow the same
consistent formatting? Or will your
posts be formatted differently
across each social media
platform?
Ways to Reach
Are you just using
standard posts to reach
out, or will you be using
“stories” to also
showcase.
Visual
Assets
Consider what font style,
colour types and templates
you will be using. What
does your brand represent?
Grammar
It’s obviously important getting the
basics right. However, consider
the grammatical style you are
setting; is it for business end
people?
3
PLANNING AND PREPARATION
Prepare Posts
You may want to consider
using a platform such as
PostPlanner to schedule out
your posts well in dvance.
A social media scheduling
spreadsheet is also useful to
plan and track of progress.
Prep Pictures
It’s a good idea to have a
collection of relevant pictures
ready to use for your content.
Using sites, such as Pablo,
will make the process much
faster. Don’t’f forget to put a
link to your site on the
picture.
Prep Hashtags
Invent hashtags relevant to
the nature of your business.
It’s worth using sites such as
Tweekdeck, Tweetreach,
TomWalker’s Analytics
Search and Warble to find
relevant hashtags to use.
Prep Infographic
Infographics can go viral if the
content is useful. Using sites such
as infograms and slidegreeks
presentationgo will make the
process much quicker and easier
for you. Make it relevant to your
content in you posts.
Having a social media plan and preparing for everything is important. It
clarifies objectives and keeps you on track. It also gives you time to
concentrate on other aspects of the business
If you are not using
a bot to autoreply,
consider drawing up
a list of common
replies to save you
time.
