What is TPACK?
TPACK describes the kinds of knowledge needed by a teacher for
effective technology integration.
1. Set of knowledge that teachers need.
2. Explains how to teach effectively using technology.
3. Based on content (what you teach) and pedagogy (how you teach).
4. Option for looking at complex phenomenon like technology
integration.

CONTEXTS
9
Key ideas to make effective use of TPACK
🠶 Concepts from the content being taught can be represented
using technology.
🠶 Pedagogical techniques can communicate content in different
ways using technology.
🠶 Different content concepts require different skill levels from
students, and educational technology can help address some of
these requirements.
🠶 Educational technology can be used in tandem with
students’ existing knowledge, helping them either strengthen
prior epistemologies or develop new ones.

TPACK OFFERS
THE TEACHERS :
 It adds a new dimension to pedagogical or content knowledge.
 It allows a teacher to know how to provide students with
an excellent education in 21st century.
THE STUDENTS :
 It helps to relate the contents with their daily life.
 It simulates the students effectively

Necessity of TPACK in Business Education
 Teach students how to manage Big Data
 Meet the expectations of the students
 Investigation in distinct areas of knowledge
1
2
It is very important for our teachers to understand the concepts of
TPECK, because our world is becoming more and more technologically
advanced. It would be unwise for a teacher to completely ignore
technology or leave it out of the classroom.

Definition of 5E
The 5E’s is an instructional model based on the constructivist
approach to learning, which says that learners build or construct new
ideas on
the top of their old ideas. The 5E’s can be used with students of all ages,
including adults.
 It allows students & teachers to experience common activities.
 To use and build on prior knowledge and experience.
 To construct meaning.
 Continually assess of their understanding of a concept.
1
6
Engage
In the stage Engage, the students first encounter and identify the
instructional task. Here they make connection between past and
present learning experience.
Activity Ideas:
1. Short Game
2. Picture Book
3. Video Clip “ Hook”
4. Real-World Problem
1
7
Explore
In this stage the students have the opportunity to
directly involved with phenomenon and
materials.
Activity Ideas:
1. Corporate Learning Task
2. Hands-on Task using Manipulative.
3. Investigation.
1
8
Explain
Activity which allows students to analyze their exploration.
Student’s understanding is clarified through a reflective
activity.
Activity Ideas:
1. Vocabulary Organizer
2. Notes (students-created)
3. Foldable (student-created)
4. Explanatory Videos
1
9
Elaborate
Activity which expands and solidifies students thinking
and applies it to a real-word situation.
Activity Ideas:
1. Problem Solving Task
2. Investigation
3. Real-World Task
4. Independent Practice (not a basic worksheet)
5. Game
2
0
Evaluate
Activity which allows the teacher to assess students
performance and understanding of concepts, skills, processes
and applications.
Activity Ideas:
1. Journal Task
2. Traditional Worksheet
3. Quiz
4. Exit Ticket
5. Problem Solving
