THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT PATOUYA B}IALMILruTAR TUI(EISHBHAI HAS CLEARED HIS/HER BACHELOR OF
ENGGINEERING IN BO-TECHNOLOGY BRANCH wlTH CGPA OF 7-3:I IN JUNE 2012
lllliltruillll REGISTRAR
t. On the basis of his/her performance in examinatioc assignmentg prrctical exm (if my) shrdent is awarded a
grade. These grades are described by the letters AA, AB, BB etc. and have a numerical equivalent called the
grade point as given below:
GRADE AA AB BB BC CC CD DD FF
POINTS 10 09 08 07 06 05 04 00
. The medium of Instruction is English
' The grade FF is taken into consideration while calculating SPI & CPI, however, these will be replaced only after
the clearance of the subject with the passing grade.
2. The performance of the student in a semester is indicated by a number citiea the Semester Performance Index (SPl).
The SPI is the weighted average of the grade points obtained in all the subjects taken by the student during the
semester.
Example: Suppose in a given semester a student has taken subjects having credits Cl, C2, C3, C4,
C5 ..... And the numerical equivalent of grades obtained in those subjects are G1,G2,G3,G4,G5...... respectively.
Then hiV her SPI will be calculated (after re-examination, if any) up to two decimal places on the basis of the final
grades. However the SPI shown in transcript reflects first attempt performance only.
An up-todate assessment from the time the student entered the course is obtained by calculating Cumulative
Performance index (CPf. The CPI is the weighted average ofthe grade poin* obtained in all the subjects taken by the
student since he/she entered the course- It is calculated in the same manner as the SPI. The CGPA is the weighted
average of the grade points obtained in all the subjects in the last four semester ofthe course.
4.
J. Backlog indicates failure in respective subjects. For continuation of study maximum 4 backlogs are pennitted,

EXAM: Examinations held by university
WI-NO: Winter examinations held in year (Odd semester Regular/Even semester Remedial)
SU-NO: Summer examination held in year (Even semester Regular/Odd semester Remediai)
ADMISSION: Regular: l2'n science passed entry at I't year
D2D: Diploma holder of relevant branch, lateral entry at 2'd year(3'd semester of degree course)
An equation to find equivalency between cpI/cGpA may be obtained as follow:
Percentage Marks : (CPVCGPA
- 0.5) x 10.
CPVCGPA Equivalent Class shall be as follow:
CPYCGPA Below 5.5 5.5 & above 6.5 & above 7.1 & above
CLASS Pass class Second class First class First class with distinction
For all courses, where the duration of the course is more than2 years, the degree shall be awarded to the students
on the basis of CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of the last four semester's performance in the exams.
ln case ofthe courses where duration is oftwo years, the degree shall be conferred to students based upon CpI
5.
(Cumulative Performance Index) considering all the four semesters performance.
