Genes contain DNA instructions for building proteins; during transcription, genes are copied into mRNA which is then read during translation by ribosomes, where tRNA molecules match mRNA codons and deliver the corresponding amino acids until a full protein is assembled from N-terminus to C-terminus based on the mRNA code. The process of protein synthesis involves transcription of DNA to mRNA in the nucleus and translation of mRNA to proteins using tRNA and ribosomes. mRNA codons are read in groups of three nucleotides and each codon corresponds to a specific amino acid delivered by tRNA through complementary base pairing of its anticodon.
