- 4. What is Trigonometry? Trigonometry is the study of triangles. Using trig you can solve many problems percisely where you may have only been able to aproximate before. Trig is used in everything from engineering and archetecture to G.P.S. In this lesson we will only be studying right triangles, meaning only triangles with a right angle as one of their 3 angles.
