SCC uses various social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, blogs and YouTube to share information about the college with current and prospective students, faculty, staff and the community. The goals are to increase student retention and recruitment through engagement. Facebook is used to promote events, share emergency updates and information, and allow students to ask questions. Twitter also shares updates and builds community relationships. A LinkedIn page helps improve the alumni database. Blogs give outsiders an inside look at SCC through student, faculty and staff stories. SCC is looking to expand their use of social media further through video, Foursquare and Google Plus.
