Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an educational framework that considers how a learner's surroundings and individual differences can impact learning. There are three principle foundations of UDL - how learners receive information, express knowledge, and become engaged in learning. UDL aims to make education accessible and challenging for all students by varying methods of presentation, expression and motivation regardless of ability or disability status.
