UKSEDS is a student organization interested in space exploration and development. It is the UK chapter of Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS), the world's largest space enthusiast organization for students. UKSEDS was founded in 1988 and has over 60 branches worldwide. The organization aims to educate people about the benefits of space, support a network of interested students, provide leadership opportunities, and inspire people through space-related projects. UKSEDS organizes an annual conference and other events to engage its members.

Who are UKSEDS? • A group of (mostly) students who are interested in Space. • SEDS is the world's largest space enthusiast organisation for both school and university students – we are the UK arm. • SEDS was founded in the US in 1980. UKSEDS was formed in 1988 and is one of the fastest growing national SEDS groups. • Currently more than 60 branches worldwide, with ~ 10 branches in the UK

Raison d’être • We want to promotes the exploration and development of space by: – Educating people about the benefits of space – Supporting a network of interested students – Providing an opportunity for members to develop their leadership skills – Inspiring people through our involvement in space- related projects • SEDS believes in a space-faring civilization and that focussing the enthusiasm of young people is the key to our future in space.

What do we actually do? • Organise events for our members – Annual Conference – Branch Symposium – Trips (e.g. NSC, IMAX) • Support Branch events • Email List • Ecliptic/Aurora • Promote other Youth Space Activities – Yuri’s Night – Space Generation Advisory Council – ESA Outreach – Russia Trip
