media plays a major 
part. 
It strongly influence to 
human behavior. 
They want to behave 
under the Ethical 
Framework .
What is Media? 
Media is a mode that can use to exchange 
information. 
We can divide media in to following 
categories. 
• written media 
• Non written media 
• Electronic media
What are Ethics? 
“The way people behave based on 
how their beliefs about what are right 
and wrong influence behavior.” 
Why we consider about media and ethics? 
• Media has huge power to influence society. 
• There is a close relationship between media 
and society. 
• In order to make a better society, media has 
to compatible with ethics.
Relationship between media 
and ethics 
There is a close relationship between media 
and ethics. Media must compatible with 
"Media ethics" continually.
Media ethics is the subdivision of applied 
ethics dealing with the specific ethical 
principles and standards of media. 
The branches of the media that try to live up 
to ethical standards include television, print 
communications, and the Internet. 
Many of the complications in media ethics 
arise from the conflict of ethical standards 
and the media companies' desire to make 
money.
Unethical behavior of media 
what are the unethical behaviors of 
media, 
 When media does not do their duties. 
 When media works beyond their limitation.
TV, Radio and Newspapers 
 Insulting famous person without any 
reasonable facts. 
 Influence internal sovereignty of countries 
through international media.
 They misused the Language 
 Some companies 
conduct their 
promotion to insult 
other companies 
which are in same 
industry.

“Social media is the social interaction among 
people in which they create, share or 
exchange information, ideas and 
pictures/videos in virtual communities and 
networks.”

Some social networks promote pyramid 
system.
Bad influence to 
youth generation.

We are providing some of the responsibilities of media 
as follows. 
 Media ought to work for the information of public 
opinion. 
 Media should throw light on issues. 
 Media has to do something for the solution of issues 
by presenting the opinion of experts. 
 Media ought to work for culture. 
 Media should provide guide line to the youth. 
 Media should condemn criminal activities.
Solutions for improving ethical 
practice of media 
1. Introducing code of ethics for media. 
2.Remove political impacts. 
3.Imposing laws and limitations. 
4.Educating the people about the 
common code of ethics. 
5.Organize ethical practice programs to 
journalist. 
6.Education.
