The target audience for kerrang is aimed at 14 to 21 year olds which are interested in in heavy metal/rock music. The circulation of kerrang magazine is 43,003, it was a monthly magazine but in 1987 it became weekly. The price of kerrang magazine is £2.40 Mojo magazine is a popular music magazine, it was first published on the 15th of October 1993. the first issue of mojo magazine was November 1993 which had Bob Dylan and john Lennon as its first cover stars, the circulation of mojo magazine is 100,507 Vibe is a music and entertainment magazine which was founded by producer Quincy Jones. - 15. The masthead is the title of the magazine and as you can see there is a red box with the letter Q in white writing. The colour red connotes how Q are passionate about providing ‘great’ music information. Another convention of a Magazine cover is the main image. The denotation of the main image is “Florence and The Machine” which connotes “star appeal” (Richard Dyer). The technical code of the close up of Florence grabs the readers attention as the front cover is mainly focusing on her. The non-verbal codes on the front cover such as the pale blue dashes and bullet points are other conventions, the bullet points in the cover line interest the reader through the brief summary and therefore they would want to read more. The strapline is placed underneath the masthead, the strapline denotes “Discover great music” which connotes inside this magazine there will be new and updated information about the music industry and the audience will be able to “Discover” this by buying and reading the magazine. On the left and right hand side of the page, there are coverlines which is information about what is inside of the magazine, for example “16 page Gig”. Coverlines are an insight to the audience about what they can read. The barcode contains the date, issue number and price, furthermore there is usually a web address (technical convergence) which allows the audience to view the magazine online. The main story is featured at the top, the main story anchors the image. The verbal code “I feel so alone” connotes that this will be an interesting story and entices the reader to want to know what it is about.

In the main article of the double page spread, the drop capital is used to catch the readers attention at the beginning of the text. The Font style is bold to try and make the readers interested in the Magazine. The purpose of the drop capital is to signal the reader where to begin. This article is in columns which implies the conventions of a double page spread and this is also usually a interview that is in columns. This heading is very appropriate because it is a line of one of Florence's number one singles. The bold front stands out to get the readers attention as the front is different from the others in this article The colour red is an extremely bold colour and suggests passion and fire which could connote the artists passion for music The stand first is the introduction for the interview, this gives the reader an insight on what the interview or column is about and allows them to decide if they want to read it Credits- this writing states who wrote the article and who took pictures. Usually in an interview on a double page spread, there is a pull quote which is a quote from the artist pulled out of the interview. From looking at the table from Bauer media pack, I have analysed that the highest amount of readers for Q are aged 15-24 years of age as the content produced in Q is appropriate for both young people and teenagers. For 70% of the readership to be in the ABC1 category, this also connotes how they have the spending power to afford a £4.00 magazine.

- 37. For my primary research I went out to the public to get responses to my questionnaire so I can then create my magazine with the responses of the publics interests. Started by asking people within the target age range.
- 38. Question 1 In this question it shows what gender who took my magazine questionnaire, it shows that most of the people who took the questionnaire are female. I will use this as a base for my own magazine by mainly targeting females instead of males so that it will become more popular. There are very few music magazines aimed solely at females.
- 39. Question 2 In this question it shows the age group who took my magazine questionnaire. It clearly shows that the most popular age group is 13-18 year olds. Furthermore I will use this information for my own magazine by making it aimed at 13-18 year olds. By doing this it shows that I have followed the information that I have received and used it into consideration.
- 40. Question 3 In this question it shows how often people buy magazines. It shows weekly, fortnightly, monthly, yearly and never. In this question it shows that hardly anyone has bought a magazine, it also shows that most people buy them yearly. I will use this information to make sure that my magazine is at the cheapest price so people would be interested in buying it more often then annually.
- 41. Question 4 In this question it shows what articles/interviews would people like that have taken my magazine. Most people have selected posters and up coming albums/artists. It shows that the people prefer to read about the artists and also have free posters of their favourite artists.
- 42. Question 5 In this question it shows if people would buy a subscription for a music magazine. As you can clearly see most of the people that had taken my questionnaire chose not to buy a subscription for a music magazine, in total there were 20.00% choose yes and 80.00% choose no. I will therefore use this information to consider how I can make subscriptions more attractive possibly by offering a discount to pay for the magazine in this way.
- 43. Question 6 In this question it shows how frequently the public would like magazines published, as it can see the most people have chosen is monthly. I will therefore use this information to consider producing a monthly edition of my own magazine.
- 44. Question 7 In this question it shows what gender of music people would prefer on my magazine, in the question it gives you options such as indie, hip hop, rock and pop music. The one that was most popular was pop music. I will make this the focus genre of my magazine.
- 45. Question 8 In this question it shows how much people would spend on a music magazine. From the options you can tell that people would spend £1-2 on a music magazine, I will therefore use this information to make my magazine as cheap as possible so it will attract more people to buy my magazine. I could consider discounts and free offers to help promote my magazine.
- 46. Question 9 In this question it asks you what prizes you would like free in the magazine, as you can see the most popular was free concert tickets. This is an expensive option but worth considering although there would be cheaper freebies that could be offered or perhaps a way of getting some freebies in exchange for advertising in my magazine.
- 47. Question 10 Finally, in this last question it asks if people will buy a music magazine because of a free gift. As you can see people have chosen maybe as the popular answer. This could be suggesting that it isn’t always about a free gift and needs to be about the content of the magazine as well.

Two of these are to publish the organization so that it is professional, this will also include privacy to label accuracy. Criminal Libel is published information that is released about someone that is considered negative to the public and which would create a reputation for that person or company.
