Students will work in groups of 4 to analyze images in a magazine for representations of individuals, groups, and places. They will identify 2 examples each of positive and negative representations of celebrities, women, ethnic groups, and places. For each image, students will describe it and explain whether it presents a positive or negative portrayal. They will also consider whether any stereotyping occurs through captions, headings, poses, clothing, makeup, and look for any role models portrayed.
