Vinca alkaloids are obtained from Catharanthus roseus, formerly known as Vinca rosea. It contains indole and indoline alkaloids such as ajmalicine, lochnerine, and serpentine. Vinblastine and vincristine are used as antineoplastic and anticancer agents in the treatment of Hodgkin's disease, leukemia, and hypertension.
Belladonna contains tropane alkaloids such as hyoscyamine, atropine, and scopolamine. It is used as a mydriatic for pupil dilation and as an antispasmodic for gastrointestinal and urinary tract spasms.
