- 4. THE ATMOSPHERE • The atmosphere is the layer of gases surrounding the Earth. • The atmosphere has two parts. TROPOSPHERE STRATOSPHERE It´s the lower layer. It contains the air. Weather happens here. It´s the upper layer. There is very little oxygen. • Functions of the atmosphere - It filters de Sun rays. - It protects us from the Sun. - It keeps the Earth warm.

- 12. ARTIFICIAL CAUSES OF AIR POLLUTION Factories emit harmful gases and smoke into the air. Cars and other vehicles emit large amounts of carbon dioxide. Fertilizers and pesticides used in agriculture releases chemicals into the atmosphere. Some products like insecticide sprays contain chemicals that pollute the air.
