Today, We will continue imagining . . . Goals of today’s lesson: To reflect on the world of the future To comprehend the message of John Lennon’s Imagine
Pre-Listening Activity: We will listen to John Lennon’s IMAGINE Have you ever listened to this song before? What do you think it is about?
 
Listening Activity I: Listen to the song and choose the word that goes in each blank ( empty space: ______ ) * Listen to the song, draw a picture to represent what you hear and then explain your pictures in small groups . * Optional activity
1. (Dye - Cry - Try ) 2. (Sky - Rye - Spry) 3. (Yard - Card - Hard) 4. (Steeple - People - Maple) 5. (Sunday - One day - Someday) 6. (Sessions - Possessions - Decisions) 7. (Cheering - Sharing - Changing) 8. (Sunday - One day – Someday) Let’s check them now
Listening Activity II: Work in small groups. Watch another video of the song by John Lennon and discuss his vision of the future with your classmates. Consider these points: Is the imaginary world of the song better or worse than the real one? Is the world a peaceful one? Is the singer/song writer the only who believes in this imaginary world?
Watch the video and try to comprehend the message of the song by listening and observing the images. The lyric of the song is also available in this video
 
Post- Listening Activities: According to your opinion: What do you think is the message of the song? Can you imagine a world like the one described in the song? Do you think a world like this is possible?
