- 1. What does U mean? The U smybol stands for Universal. Which means a U films are suitable for audience age four and over U films do not have hardcore violece(but you might see brieft fight scene) or sexual activity (but you might see kissing or cudding in these films). U films are unlikely to contain discriminatory language or behaviour unless it is clearly disapproved of. UP, Despicable Me 2, Ice age 4 and Monter inc are good example of bbfc U' Films.
- 2. What does PG mean? PG stands for parental Guidance, this means a film is suitable for any age but some scene may be unsuitable for younger children. A 'PG' film should not disturb a cild aged around eight or older. However, parents are adviced to consider whether the content may upset youngers or sensitive children. - 3. What does 12A/12 mean? the difference between 12A/12 is that the 12A category excist only for cinema films and that anyone aged twelve and over can go see the film unaccompained. The 'A' stands for 'accompained' and 'advisory' 12A movies are not recommended for children younger than twelve but if accompained they're allowed to watch it. However, the 12 category exists only for videos, DVDs, and BLU-rays. Same rule applies for when renting/buying video games or DVDs. Unlike 'U' and 'PG' movies. 12A range from the genre category. Romantic (Dear John), Acton (Snitch), Fanasty (Man of Steel), Comdey (the internership) These movies are still suitable for age 12 and over.
