This document summarizes the development of a project to upscale weblectures at a large university. It describes a 3 stage development process: an initial experiment, a pilot project involving key users, and a full campus-wide project. It discusses factors for success including engagement of users, ease of use of the technology, and educational effectiveness. Key users such as an ambassador community and innovation sessions helped ensure quality and knowledge sharing. The goal was to make weblectures conveniently available anytime, anywhere to improve grades, engagement, knowledge retention and understanding for both students and teachers.
