This document discusses using Second Life to teach allied health students at the University of Kansas Medical Center how to conduct home assessments. It describes how physical therapy and occupational therapy students were given a case study of a patient and worked together in groups in Second Life to evaluate her home and develop modification plans. A survey found that most students had not used Second Life before but found it helpful for learning about home assessments. The university hopes to provide access to other programs and develop more virtual learning experiences.
