Assessment
Blogging all the while…
A space for comments
A conversation over time
Integrated practices social bookmarking blog critical reading peer review ACES LTA event slidesharing
Action points for teaching Start at the beginning of a module Respond to more postings (not just feedback and encouragement by email) Encourage and support social tagging Encourage the discussion of ‘topics’ – not just references
Transferable skills Managing information (employability agenda) from listing to social tagging commenting and reviewing Critical digital literacy (WP agenda): socialisation into digital practices (more SNS use and less blogging) managing digital footprints and privacy power relations and new digital practices
In summary… Interesting experiments refinements needed worth revisiting Potential to allow e-learners to develop a personal stance towards academic literature A really useful collaboration
