Guidlines for Planning Students
Internet Experiences
• Become comfortable with the internet
• Select appropriate web sites.
• Set a clear objective / outcome for what you
expect the students to learn from this experience.
-(What is the student learning?)
• Reflect on how the use of the technology/
Internet will enhance the achievement of the
outcome.
-(What does the technology offer that makes
it a good tool for this objective?)
• Preview all web sites carefully.
Guidlines for Planning Students
Internet Experiences
• Decide if this experience would be most effective
as a large group presentation, accessed directly
by students, or as a combination of both.
• Make a bookmark list of the site or sites you will
be using in the lesson and save them as a
bookmark file in the global shared folder.
• Prepare a graphic organizer, rubric, or set of
directions for students.
• Prepare students for what they will be learning
and what will be expected of them.
• Plan for how you will assess mastery of the
objective.

Students start pages
• One of the simplest ways to guide students
• Annotated with specific directions or
objectives for use.
• Constructed through special software
designed for web page construction
• Students access these start pages under adult
supervision with the understanding of the
school's acceptable use policy in which they
have agreed to appropriate standards for
back
Internet use.
Teacher Resources
A number of sites that have collected
educational resources have begun to add a
search engine feature that allows you to
search the collected sites according to a
specific topic. These sites are extremely useful
and time-saving for teachers.
