This document discusses using stairs for athletic performance training. Specifically, it outlines how stairs can be used to improve sprint and jump mechanics by overcoming gravity and transferring force similarly to the sport. Stair workouts are described as a way to train in the three planes of movement at varying angles and speeds to improve acceleration, deceleration, and conditioning while also preventing injuries through adaptation. Biomechanics translation from stairs to sport performance and progression of stair workouts are covered.
