The survey of 700 UVic Libraries website users found that over 90% use the site to access electronic journals and databases, while other popular activities included finding books and course reserves. When asked about difficulties, respondents cited issues like the search engine for journals, navigating the complex array of resources, and deciphering search syntax. The top themes for improvement included enhancing the journal search, expanding e-content, simplifying location of physical materials, and modernizing the site design and search functionality to be more intuitive. Based on the feedback, next steps would involve communicating results, collaborating within the library to develop a prototype for selected areas, and establishing a user panel to evaluate changes.
