VOCABULARY
Content Standards:
Define the knowledge, concepts, and skills that
students should acquire at each grade level.
(VCS regards these as the minimum standards
per grade level.)
Curriculum: Your course content.
Objectives:
A specific result or results you aim to achieve
within a specific time frame or lesson.
Pre-assessment—An
assessment that takes place
prior to a unit of study to
understand prior student
learning and to help direct
instruction.
Formative—formal or informal
assessments given during the
instructional process in order to
modify instruction and activities
to reach student achievement.
Summative—formal assessment
at the end of a specific learning
