Air Barrier PaperA sheet material used as both a vapor retarder and an air barrier. ‘Tyvek’ is one of the most common Air Barrier Paper used. This particular one is not the Tyvek brand.
Attic VentilationUsed to release the heat that build ups in the attic. Main types are: soffit vent, ridge cent, gabled vent, and roof turbine.
BackhoeA backhoe is usually the back side of a front end loader and is used to move any type of soil.
Batter BoardsA temporary frame build just outside the corner of an excavation to carry marks that lie on the surface planes of the basement that will be built in excavation.
Brick ArchesJack ArchSegmental archCentering- framing used to support the brick as they are laid.

Concrete JointsCrack in the sidewalk. I don’t really know why there is a crack here. The control joints seem to be in the right place. The crack must have been caused by the ground shifting or something.Isolation joints are used to relieve flexural stresses due to vertical movement of slab-on-grade applications that adjoin fixed foundation elements such as columns, building or machinery foundations, bridge abutments, light standards, drop inlets, and so on. The isolation joint material allows the slab-on-grade to move up or down with the changes of soil support conditions.

Front End LoaderA machine often used in construction used to ‘load’ things. They come in many different sizes for any size/type of job.
Gypsum BoardUsed for a common method of constructing interior walls and ceilings using panels made of gypsum plaster pressed between two thick sheets of paper, then kiln dried.

Insulation	Insulation is used to keep the temperature inside the building the same and different from the exterior. Ex. Heat inside and cold outside or cold inside and hot outsideBatt/BlanketLoose FillFoamedRigid board
LintelA horizontal structural member, such as a beam or stone, that spans an opening, as between the uprights of a door or window or between two columns or piers.

Oriented Strand Board (OSB)Is an engineered wood product formed by layering strands (flakes) of wood in specific orientations.
Plumbing	1. Lavatory (sink)-1 1/2 “ pipe2. Water Closet (toilet)-3” pipe3. Bath Tub4. Plumbing Vent- allows the gasses from the plumbing to exit the house through the roof and not through the bathrooms or sinks5. Drop –In sink
Plywood1.Plywood- this particular piece is used as a support for a tub. They will cut out the circle for the tub.2. veneer- a thin covering over another surface.
Radiant BarrierRadiant barriers are materials that are installed in buildings to reduce summer heat gain and winter heat loss, and hence to reduce building heating and cooling energy usage.
RebarThis particular piece of rebar is ½’’ in diameter and is considered a #4 in the ASTM Standard Reinforcing Bars. This particular bar was probably used as reinforcement for the slab on grade for the house. The deformations on the bar are there to grip the concrete when poured. If it was just a smooth bar then it could slide out easily.
Step Roof DrainageGutter-collects the runoff water from the roof and drains it into the downspoutDownspout-drains the water from the gutters down to the ground or drainage systemSplashblock-put at the bottom of the downspouts to keep from eroding the ground.123
Steep Roof Materials1.Roof underlayment-black (paper) that is a water proof barrier that goes on before the shingles to help protect the house from water.2.Clay Tile Roof3.Wood shingles4.Metal Panel Roof- Aluminum

Vapor RetarderPaper sideKraft- mainly put in the inside of the structure with the paper facing the “warm in winter” position. Used to keep moisture in or out of the building
Water ProofingThis particular type if painted on in several coats to protect the base of the slab.
Weep HoleA small opening whose purpose is to permit drainage of water that accumulates inside a building component or assembly.
Welded wire fabricA grid of steel rods that are welded used to reinforce a concrete slab.
